A strategic initiative of WCF, the Talent Ecosystem Fund invests in Wichita’s workforce issues, talent development and lifelong learning.
NXTUS | NXTSTAGE | $250,000
The NXTSTAGE Pilot Competition is aimed at helping propel startups that have gotten off the ground, with deployable products in market, to their next stage of growth, by connecting them to mature businesses and regional partners looking to become customers for their innovations. A key component of NXTSTAGE is that the young companies selected to present their solutions to the industry partners will earn paid trips to Wichita. While in Kansas, they will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with decision makers, interact with innovation teams inside partner organizations, and get to know the community better. This TEF grant will fund the overall development of the competition, as well as the travel expenses related to the startup visits.
WSU Tech | Wichita Promise MOVE | $500,000
This pilot project will provide cost of living expenses including housing and transportation to students who reside outside of the Wichita area and require relocation. The program is designed to increase Wichita’s skilled workforce by removing barriers that keep individuals from getting trained by paying tuition and fees for specific high wage, high demand jobs, providing training, credentials, certifications, personal career advising and a guaranteed interview upon completion.
Open applications for funding from the Talent Ecosystem Fund are not being accepted at this time.
