William & Hazel Busch Endowed Scholarship Fund

Eligibility & Requirements

  • Must be from Conway Springs/Argonia area
  • Declaration of intent to work toward a career in an agriculturally-related industry
  • Awards will be made with regard to financial need
  • A scholarship nominee(s) may not have a blood or marriage relationship to any member of the donor family, any member of the selection committee, or any member of the Wichita Community Foundation Board of Directors or staff


Successful applicants acknowledge and agree to provide a written report to the Wichita Community Foundation every six months (Jan. 1 & June 30). This report will contain a letter stating how the applicant is advancing on his or her goals, plans for the coming semester and a current transcript.

Award Details

The William and Hazel Busch Endowed Scholarship is dedicated to the training, professional development, and capacity building needed among the youth of the Conway Springs/Argonia area in order to promote a career in agriculture as a culturally, environmentally and economically-viable way of life.

All scholarships will be forfeited if not used within six (6) months from the date they are awarded. Exceptions to this rule will be made on a case-by-case basis as necessitated by the starting dates and availability of specific training opportunities related to the purpose of this scholarship.  Scholarships may be renewed so long as the student maintains satisfactory progress toward completing his or her stated objectives.

The Wichita Community Foundation is responsible for the investment, administration and governance of the William & Hazel Busch Endowed Scholarship Fund.


The application must be electronically submitted by noon on March 22, 2019. No exceptions.



This scholarship is awarded based on financial need, so you’ll need to qualify and attach your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or SAR (Student Aid Report). FASFA is approximately 10-15 pages, while the SAR is 3-5 pages. Either submission must reflect financial information.


Must include the following
  • Extracurricular activities you have participated in during high school, such as student government, sports, and clubs, along with offices held and any special honors you have received.
  • Community Service including services-related activities in which you have participated in the past four years
  • Work experience you have had in the past four years, including your length of employment
