Eligibility & Requirements
- Applicants must be a resident of the United States or authorized to work in the United States. If an applicant is a resident of Kansas, he or she may attend and pursue aviation-related studies at an educational institution outside the state of Kansas. If the applicant resides outside the state of Kansas, they must elect to pursue aviation-related studies at an educational institution in the state of Kansas to qualify for a scholarship award.
- Applicants must be pursuing aviation related studies leading to a credential, an associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree at an accredited educational institution and have demonstrated an interest in pursuing a career in an aviation-related field.
- Scholarships are awarded on the following criteria:
- Financial need
- Academic achievement
Scholarships may be renewed for an additional year so long as the student maintains satisfactory academic progress in an aviation-related field. Prior awardees are required to submit a full application to be considered. The Wichita Community Foundation is responsible for the investment, administration and governance of The Wichita Aero Club Stimpson Scholarship Fund.
The application must be electronically submitted by noon on May 15. No exceptions.
