J.D and Dorothy Edmiston Scholarship for Track & Field Athletes Fund

Eligibility & Requirements

  • Applicants must be a graduating senior from Wichita East High School who has competed in track and field and/or cross country
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5
  • Scholarships are awarded based on the following criteria: 
    • Financial need
    • Academic performance
    • Extracurricular activities

Award Details

Two $500 scholarships are awarded annually to one male and one female student graduating from Wichita East High School. Scholarships, at this time, are not renewable. The Wichita Community Foundation is responsible for the investment, administration and governance of the J.D. and Dorothy Edmiston Scholarship for Track & Field Athletes Fund.


The application must be electronically submitted by noon on March 31, 2022. No exceptions.


Essays (250 words or less)


Must include the following
  • Extracurricular activities you have participated in during high school, such as student government, sports, and clubs, along with offices held and any special honors you have received.
  • Community Service including services-related activities in which you have participated in the past four years
  • Work experience you have had in the past four years, including your length of employment
