Beth Alexander Memorial Award Scholarship Fund

Eligibility & Requirements

  • All Garden Plain High School students who are not academically eligible for grade-based awards or recognition may apply
  • Cumulative GPA must be less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Family members of the selection committee and Wichita Community Foundation Board of Directors and staff are not eligible

Successful applicants will have demonstrated personal commitment to school and class attendance, academic improvement and willingness to seek help, cooperation with classmates and faculty, and participation in making the community an environment in which life is always good. 

Accountability

All award recipients are required to provide the Selection Committee with a report on how the money was used and the results achieved in the first year following receipt of the award.

Award Details

Scholarships are awarded on an annual basis (amount varies). The Beth Alexander Memorial Award must be used to help finance further educational development (community college, university, technical school or vocational school or other educational opportunities) with the goal of achieving a productive self-supporting life. The Wichita Community Foundation is responsible for the investment, administration and governance of the Beth Alexander Memorial Award Scholarship Fund. Former students, citizens and friends of Beth Alexander may contribute to this Fund and will receive a charitable contribution receipt for the full amount of their gift. 

Deadline

The application must be electronically submitted by noon on March 31, 2022. No exceptions.

  • Community activities, including volunteering, you have participated in along with offices you have held and any special honors you may have received
  • Share how long you have been involved in any community activities
  • Work experience you have had in the past four years, including your length of employment
