Fund Intent

Magnify increases the potential for career advancement and development for nonprofits and the individuals who serve these organizations. The program supports professional seminars and training opportunities not covered by normal operating expenses. Trainings can vary from one-day skill-building courses to multi-day career-enhancing seminars.

What We Fund

  • Individuals working in the nonprofit sector to attend professional development opportunities, included, but not limited to:
    • Organizational leadership
    • Field-specific
    • Task-specific
  • Nonprofit organizations needs revolving around, but not limited to:
    • Strategic planning
    • Board training
    • Staff development

What We Decline

  • Requests to pursue degrees
  • Salary payments
  • Capital campaigns
  • Fundraising Consultants


All applicants for a Magnify grant from the Wichita Community Foundation must be/be employed by an organization:

  • In good standing with the Kansas Secretary of State‚Äôs office
  • With a 501(c)(3) designation
  • Classified with contributions deductible under Section 170(c)(2)

Grant Details

  • Up to three individuals per organization per training can apply
  • One award per organization per year
  • Reasonable expenses for travel, training costs, lodging and meals will be covered up to $3,000 per individual
  • Expenses related to organization-wide efforts will be covered up to $10,000 per nonprofit
  • Applications are available online only

All grants are awarded at the discretion of the Grants Committee, subject to the approval of the Board of Directors of the Wichita Community Foundation

Selected recipients will be required to submit a Magnify profile, which will include details on how the grant was used, and how it will benefit the individual or organization. Awardees will be required to provide photos and complete a Q&A. The profile will be used on WCF social media channels to raise awareness of the opportunity. More details will be shared about this requirement once a grant is awarded.


Applications are accepted year-round and will be reviewed monthly.
