Grants at the Wichita Community Foundation
As our organization has evolved, so has our grant making.
In response to suggestions from donors, the Wichita Community Foundation distributes grants monthly, totaling $3.2 million in 2015. These grants are recommended to nonprofit agencies in Wichita, other parts of Kansas, and several other locations throughout the United States.
If your agency is seeking funding for a special project, applications can be submitted to our giving portal, DonorCentral. Although we cannot guarantee these projects will be funded, this application ensures that our fund holders are aware of the opportunities. Requests submitted to DonorCentral cannot exceed $5,000, and only one submission per organization may be posted at one time. Grant requests will be eligible for funding for a maximum of six months.
Competitive grant making
We currently conduct competitive grant rounds for fund holders upon request. Each of the funds have specific guidelines and application instructions. More information is available on the specific fund's page.
WCF Emergency Fund
The Wichita Community Foundation understands that unexpected financial circumstances can arise for nonprofit organizations. The WCF Emergency Fund provides relief assistance to agencies in the Wichita and Sedgwick County area. Our online application process is short and our response time is quick.
WCF Unrestricted Fund
Donors have the opportunity to give, without restriction, their charitable dollars directly to the Wichita Community Foundation. We mobilize these charitable dollars through our Strategic Initiatives. These financial gifts are made at the discretion of the WCF Board of Directors. Applications are not being accepted at this time.
