ChainLink Gallery debuts art interventions in downtown Wichita

The chain link fence bordering the former ICT Pop Up Park opened an opportunity to bring art to the community, thus the ChainLink Gallery was born. Now local artists are showcasing their talents in the heart of downtown Wichita.

Facilitated by Harvester Arts with support from the Wichita Community Foundation (WCF) and Bokeh Development, the trio partnered to collaborate with area artists.

“Wichita has to grow and change, constantly looking for ways to stay fresh and relevant,” said WCF President and CEO, Shelly Prichard. The initiative is funded by the Knight Foundation Fund at WCF. “This opportunity will activate the site and keep Wichitans engaged as they anticipate the evolution of the space.”

Five artists (highlighted below) will add their creative flair to the fence for an engaging art experience. These series of creative interventions will rotate in two-week intervals on the south side of Douglas Avenue between Market and Main.

The downtown location allows for easy curbside access to the art. Featured art by artist Heather Byers.
