Floating sculpture, parking garage party and outdoor movie theater among 11 projects to engage Wichitans this year
Wichita, Kan. – The Wichita Community Foundation is investing $52,688 to impact city vibrancy by providing grants to a select group of changemakers. The individuals gathered in April for Up the Ambition, a 1.5 day convening, to collaborate, ideate and learn about tactical ways of improving public spaces.
“WCF, in partnership with Knight Foundation, challenged Up the Ambition participants to think differently about enhancing areas in and around downtown,” said WCF Director of Strategic Initiatives Courtney Bengtson. “Each of the projects funded reflect ways communities and citizens can come together to activate underutilized spaces.”
