COMMUNITY FOUNDATION GRANTS $100,000 TO
WICHITA NONPROFITS
The board of directors of the Wichita
Community Foundation approved grants in excess of $100,000 for
its fall grant round. Twelve organizations were selected from
the 33 groups submitting proposals for consideration during the

in the areas of health, the arts, education and human and social
services in the Wichita area. The purposes of the grants include
funding of programs providing health and transportation services
for indigent and special needs citizens, career counseling for
minority students, English programs for non-native speakers and
training programs for nonprofit agency staffs and volunteers.
For the recently ended fiscal year, the
Foundation gave grants totaling $4.3 million. During its 19 year
history, the Foundation has amassed $42 million in assets and
gifted $29 million to the community.
